Free-standing country kitchens are not a new idea, they have been around for generations. Even today they are still a very popular alternative to that "fitted" look. Where we win over others, is in our ability to alter and adapt original antique pieces of furniture into something that you can use in our modern world. We can take an original pine wardrobe, extend it, cut-it, re-work it, so that you can house your fridge/freezer in it. We have adapted early English dressers so that fridges and freezers can be built into the bottom. With the doors shut, no one can tell.

Here are just a few examples of different things you can have in your kitchen. Every kitchen is different and there are always new challenges. At the end of the day with one of our kitchens you will have a totally unique kitchen that has been built with your needs in mind. Your kitchen is all about what you want to get from it, it has to work, things have to be in the right place. Ministry of Pine can create your ideal kitchen...and all in around four or five weeks.
Please do not think that you need tens of thousands of pounds for one of our kitchens, our customers are always pleasantly surprised at the cost. If you have any queries at all, or would like more details please do not hesitate to email us.

This is a stunning kitchen. Our customers in Bath were brave with colours too, it is not that easy to tell in these photos but the main run of units is in a darker blue than the free-standing island in the middle of the room. It is always quite unnerving when you have a new build and you have to make decisions that you have to live with for years - no mistakes here in this kitchen.

It is a good example of old and new working well together too, we have an original old pine school cupboard for a larder, next to an ultra modern fridge, with a really early little cupboard on the wall next to that.

This was also a great example of taking patterns means we can't get it wrong. We laid out all of this timber before the room was anywhere near finished. When our customers came to the shop to see what the island looked like they could not believe that it was going to fit in! As we had made an exact pattern it had to fit...

..and it looks fantastic. The island is double sided with drawers and doors on both sides. The solid oak top makes a great work surface.

The next four photos of our customers house in Taunton show a pretty good range of different things that are possible to build for your kitchen. This one shows that you can "tidy" up a fridge area with some panelling and a small cupboard, without the inconvenience of having to open a large cupboard door to get to the fridge.

It is never easy explaining to customers that less is usually more when it comes to building cupboards in your kitchen. This room felt quite small but just by leaving a space between the sink unit and the big sideboard on the next wall it creates a feeling that there is lots of room - without losing any storage or worktop space.

We tried to tie in the larder that we built for one of the alcoves with the unit around the fridge just to frame that whole wall up nicely. I think you have to agree that it really does work.

I would like to point out at this stage that I went back and took these photos over a year after the original fit, so you can rest assured that your kitchen will still look this good long after we have packed up our tools and left.

Here is another good before and after shot, this large house in Saltford gave scope for a really long, deep run of units, and I think you can see that when the units were fitted - below, it actually made the room look bigger!

This run of units is almost 17' it is a very lucky lady has that much storage and working space - don't get lost in there Jenny! Again a good mix with the hanging cupboards being original pieces that we have restored and left in the wax rather than paint. You can't see from this angle but we have painted the inside of the glazed cupboard to tie it in and brighten it up a bit too.

It is not often these days that we are asked to build kitchen units that are not painted, but we have done two recently. This is a stand alone unit for a customers utility room.

This waxed finished kitchen is in Chipping Sodbury and again makes this room look so big now that it has units all the way round this corner.

Simple but so effective, just a couple of fillets to frame this cooker and two little bits of oak on top just finish it off.

This run of cupboards on the opposite end of the kitchen is quite deceptive. It does offer quite a bit more storage but we have made them quite shallow so that they do not take up too much room. We are going back to fit the shutters above this unit.

It looks so easy doesn't it? This floor was out by quite a lot and the whole unit had to be scribed to the floor, but it was all still fitted in one day.
